little things are everywhere

I just took two weeks off of social media, unannounced. And it was pure medicine.

As an empath, it is very easy to feel the emotions, joys, and stressors of everyone. And 14 days ago, the feelings were flooding in more quickly than I could mange and disperse them. So, I listened.

I had no choice but to immediately turn off the noise, the chatter, that continuously entered my thoughts, my emotions, my heart. It was time to resonate on just my frequency once again. It was time to once again be a reflection of my light and clarity rather than an absorbent sponge of other’s projections.

It’s called a reset. And it is essential.

Stepping back from social media, informational and friendship platforms that so many see as a source, allows us to tap back into the source that is always within, yourSelf. Your souce, your light, whatever and whoever that is for you, always lives within.

The same is true for all sources of information. Some people watch a lot of news programs, Netflix, or talk show programs. As these are all entertaining and fun to watch, it is also another’s creation, an input of information from another. Although useful and often fun, it is important to also know who you are in it all.

Giving yourSelf some freedom from the routine of listening to others allows for you to live freely in yourself, creating your own renewal, expression, and peace. Unwanted feelings of confusion or frustration or images created by another begin to fade away, reminding you of what really matters…the little things.

These little things are everywhere for us all of the time….a bee pollinating a flower, a bird’s song, the glow of a sleepy sky as the sun kisses the horizon, the sweetness of a kitten’s attempt at a meow, a hawk flying above, a child’s laughter, witnessing a passerby’s cheeks raising under her masked face, knowing it’s from a smile, the amazing flavors of a delicious meal, the excitement of waiting in line at the ice cream truck, embracing a moment on a mountainside of wild lilies, sitting quietly.

Creating the time to celebrate the little things, rather than other’s perspectives of what seems like bigger things, reinvents how you see the sizes of each of them. The tables turn. The little things are now more important and become the bigger things in life. They then shed light on whatever may feel like a big thing in your life, and it simplifies because you are aware, in tune, and have clarity. And this is self alignment, truly embodying the balance of life.

It certainly can be a struggle. Changing a part of a routine or lifestyle that may be triggering or is repetitive is the first step towards a greater understanding and reinvention of yourSelf, your values, your self worth, your visions, your beliefs. You must be willing to give to you, and often change is the only way to discover how.

How often can you say you take time just for YOU? I am meaning actually turning off your brain from any stimulation and mental thinking and simply being with yourSelf, no matter how much it hurts. This is often the hardest part, because sometimes being with ourselves shines some light on aspects of ourselves that can feel doubtful or disappointing.

Loving yourSelf isn’t always easy. But learn to critique yourself as you discover, rather than be critical of yourself, for a good critique invites an expanded view and can see , and hear, a new way.

Rest from an exhausting routine. Love all parts of yourSelf. Nurture yourSelf. Listen from within.

Invite the tables to turn.

The little things are speaking everywhere.

Listen.

Make them big.
